Governors and neo-liberalism reforms in Argentina and Brazil

Abstract

The aim of this article is to study the impact of the economic and administrative reforms in the federal systems of Brazil and Argentina, during the 90s. The application of neo-liberal politics at these countries, supported by multilateral agencies, established a new equilibrium inside these Federations. The purpose here is to analyze the changes, in the economic and administrative areas, in relation to the power of one of the most important political actors of these countries, the Governors of the Brazilian states and the Argentinean provinces.
