Abstract

In this interview, Eduardo Gudynas delves into some of his concepts such us development and post-development, political ecology, extractivism and types of extractivism and their environmental consequences. He also puts forward some of the key axes of his postdevelopment proposal that favours sustainability, recognition of the rights of nature, and the idea of buen vivir as an alternative to developmentalism. In a somehow novel move, he poses several ideas of new kind of social theory currently emerging in Latin America.
