Abstract

There is no doubt that Ulrich Beck is already a reference to the current sociology, which can be explained in part by his constant motivation for renewing the conceptual foundations of his thought. Trying to track down these internal revolutions, this dialogue has approached, retrospectively, his older ideas from his latest researches: from romantic love to first and second modernity, from cosmopolitanism to individualization process, and so on. In a conversation constantly stressed by the relationship to the other, Beck talks about the personal, scientific and social processes that have led him to his most recent ideas, especially those of transnational sociology and politics.
