Abstract

The following article, is proposed to critically reconstruct the traditional opposition dictatorship-democracy, with which social theory has interpreted the transition to democracy in Chile. To achieve this purpose, we proceed by exposing the main assumptions of the debate, from the border between sociology and political philosophy, which allows us to situate the analytical value of the concept of exception made by Giorgio Agamben for the interpretation of sociopolitical processes of the last decades of twentieth century in our country.
