Abstract

In this interview it discusses the notion of memory related with the recent history of Latin America, with focus on the Chilean case. In the first part, it is a journey through the academic career of Professor Steve J. Stern and his relationship with Latin American history. In the second, it discusses the concept of memory and their implications for the study of Chilean politics, and in the third part, it proposes challenges to the current social context and it analyses how memory plays a necessary role to understanding our recent past.
