Abstract

Political realism is based on the assumption that the states which integrate the international system and highlights for their wingspan, generally are classified as great powers, regional powers, global and others intellectual constructions, witch define the dynamic of the relations between them. In the Latin-American case, and after the Argentina’s economic contraction, Brazil has been considered the dominant regional power. Nevertheless, Mexico has usually been considered as the natural balance of Brazil´s leadership. However, this article sustain that Mexico are not Brazils countervailing power, but rather this greatest Spanish speaking is a middle power.
