Abstract
Through an ethnographic research carried out in the Serrano family’s popular camera repair shop in downtown Mexico City, this article analyzes and reflects on the transmission of knowledge through practice, the appropriation of technologies, and the resistance mechanisms that are developed, intentionally or not, in these spaces by challenging the market logic that limits not only the “use and life” of various technological devices, but also access to information to intervene and repair them at convenience outside of official workshops.
