Abstract

This interview addresses the work of the philosopher Enrique Dussel in the light of his contributions to the contemporary critical thought, with special emphasis on the knowledge transfers between Europe and Latin America. Discussing the configuration of the author’s thought, the interview begins with the influences of continental European philosophy in his works, to then point out the debates from Latin America that helped to define a Latin American critique. Finally, some reflections on the critique of capitalism, modernity and emancipatory politics in Latin American critical thought are introduced.
